Job Description

About the unit

We are a 64 bed Inpatient Rehab Unit that sees a variety of patients who need to work on both their functional and medical problems. We treat ortho patients recovering from hip fractures, complex knee replacement, back surgery with neurologic involvement, multi-trauma, and other orthopedic issues. We also see neurology patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Parkinson's, MS, and any cancer diagnosis with functional decline. We also have patients come to our unit who had amputations and other complex medical/surgical issues with functional decline. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy across the 7-day week. Nursing continues the interventions practiced by the patients in therapy sessions, to continue safe mobility. For many of our patients, Rehab is the key to getting back home with their families. This is a very rewarding unit to work on, as we all get to take part in the progress patients make towards their goal of getting home.
