Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, team-oriented individual to join our crew at Solitude Links Golf Course. The Mechanic will report directly to, and work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, with the overall goal of producing the best product for the golfer/client daily.

Facility Operation

Solitude Linksis an 18-hole municipal golf course owned by the city of Kimble. The golf course maintenance is managed by Davey Golf a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company.

Compensation:$20+DOE

Job Duties

What You'll Do:

Maintain full fleet of golf course equipment.Equipment includes diesel/gas/electric powered equipment, reel/rotary mowers, rollers, blowers, tractors, small engine as well as many other golf course specific equipment.Inspect/diagnose/repair any equipment defects or failures.Implement a preventative equipment maintenance program to be utilized in season.Frequent reel inspection/adjustment. Reel and Bedknife grinding (can provide education/training).Maintain an organized, clean maintenance facility.Order and/or assist in ordering parts and supplies for equipment and maintenance facility.Assist instructing crew members with safe equipment operation and cleaning practices.Work closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and crew on projects, daily maintenance or any other tasks needed for optimal operation.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Must be self-motivated but can also operate in a team environment.
  • Punctual, dependable, communicative.
  • Golf Course operations experience preferred not required.
  • Experience in most aspects of mechanical repairs. Diesel engines, gas engines, small engines, hydraulics, electrical.
  • Fabrication, metalwork, and Welding preferred not required.
  • Preferred reel grinding, adjusting and overall reel maintenance. Reel education and training supplied to individuals willing to learn.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
