Job Description

The responsibility of the Lab Instructor - Science position is to facilitate student achievement in the laboratory learning environment by providing program-specific expertise and instruction under the direct supervision of the Program Director. This position is located in Cadillac, MI.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Student Success: provide instruction and assistance to students during their laboratory experience in accordance with curriculum requirements, assure that students meet all skill/performance outcomes in accordance with curriculum requirements, and assist Program Director with student files, surveys, schedules and required hours
  • Laboratory Management: oversee the organization of the laboratory, ensure safe procedures in laboratory and attend safety training sessions as assigned
  • Continuous Improvement: participate in relevant campus and system meetings in addition to all staff and faculty professional development events.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university related to biology or health with an emphasis in science required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Documented upper level microbiology and/or anatomy coursework required.
  • Work experience is in accordance with the Academic Faculty Credential Policy and Guidelines, teaching experience at the college level and three years' work experience in the related field is preferred.
