Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

To provide observation for the patient who requires close continuous observation for protection from harm.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

• As directed by RN, ambulates patient; accompanies the patient when being transported to other departments; assists with meals if there are no dysphagia problems; and maintains a calm, clean, and safe environment.
• Documents observations accurately and timely on correct form as appropriate. Immediately communicates significant information to RN such as changes in the patient's behavior or condition.
• Remains alert, calm, and professional, staying in constant view of the patient at all times.
• Does NOT take independent action(s) with patients.
• With proper education performance of EKG
• Other duties as assigned such as cleaning of rooms, removal, of trash and linens
