Job Description

Job Summary

The Transportation/Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring customer base is provided prompt & efficient service by our team of drivers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Supervision of the Fleet and Routes in relation to daily operations of the fleet.
  • Responsible for transportation of raw materials; schedules all outgoing finished product and the transportation of such.
  • Responsible for all routes and routing process; makes changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency; schedules all drivers ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Sets schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant.
  • Involved in hiring, training, and safety orientation of new drivers.
  • Monitors DOT logs and driver timecards to guarantee drivers operate within regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining current accounts and enlisting new accounts in designated area.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, quality service to all customers in area.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes; to include:
    • prior route delivery driving.
    • supervision of route drivers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Can communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Able to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
  • Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Occasionally will assist with pushing, pulling, moving or lifting up to 100lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out at a plant location, customer locations, and in company vehicle.
