Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Civil/Site team in Lansing, MI!

We engage with our clients as a strategic partner providing complete civil and site consulting and engineering services to both public and private clients. This partnership begins with comprehensive site feasibility evaluations as part of the due diligence process to identify potential pitfalls and implement strategies to overcome them. We have extensive experience in traditional residential development as well as commercial project types including office, retail, financial, educational, restaurant, mixed-use, healthcare, landfill, energy, industrial, and warehouse.


Responsibilities

  • Designing land development projects using Civil 3D including site, grading, and utilities.
  • Willing and interested in learning how to design these systems.
  • Potential to take an active leadership role and guide junior staff in the development of the project.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure department to help with utility coordination and municipal utility design for complex highway and bridge projects throughout the country.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of related civil/site experience is required.
  • PE license or working towards licensure is preferred.
  • Proficiency and understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with MicroStation, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-HMS/-RAS, OpenRoads, and InRoads is a plus.
  • Understanding of how storm water management systems function.
  • Prior experience with business development, project management, client facing and estimating costs is a plus.
  • Proficiency in technical skills in storm water management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and other site development related designs.
