Job Description

Essential functions of the role:

  • Serve as project advocate in the tax planning process to promote and implement tax-planning ideas. Administer the entities and structures that are a result of various tax and financial projects.
  • Participate in preparation and review of the various periodic sales/use tax returns, property tax filings and processing of the corresponding tax bills.
  • Maintains and completes all items on the due date tracker listing.
  • Responds to, investigates and follow up on customer inquiries, internal tax inquiries, and various governmental audits.
  • Assists with identifying both technical and process related improvements for the department and actively participates in the administration of the tax department.
  • Collaborates with outside advisors including CPA's, attorneys, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 4 years progressive experience in the tax department of an international accounting firm or in a large corporate tax department
    • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant - preferred)
  • International Tax Experience (specifically Canada)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • Masters Degree (MBA, MSA, MST - preferred)
