**$5,000 Sign-On Bonus**

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech I works as a member of the Cardiovascular Lab (CCL) team of medical professionals. Under the direct supervision, is responsible for assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures by performing Scrub or Monitor functions. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the CCL. Responsible for patient safety in the CCL and must be able to recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, operate external cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator.

Unit Overview:

The cardiac catheterization lab is the "heart" of the hospital where innovative, lifesaving, minimally invasive procedures are performed to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease. The cardiac cath lab is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology used to view the arteries and check how well blood is flowing to and from the heart.

The cardiac cath lab at Henry Ford Wyandotte hospital provides 24- hour coverage by an expert team of board-certified interventional cardiologists, nurses and technicians who have special training in a variety of invasive diagnostic, interventional cardiac procedures as well as endovascular procedures. This environment fosters growth and critical thinking. The team that staffs the cath lab is tight knit group dedicated to each other as well as their patients. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g. Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.)

  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience preferably in Cath Lab or in Radiology and/or registry eligible.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.

  • Licensure or Certification in degree field preferred.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to develop and maintain a wide variety of cooperative working relationships and convey information clearly and consistently through verbal and written medium.

  • Analytical ability necessary in order to determine best method of providing requested test based on the specifics of each individual case.
