We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to be a key resource for financial accuracy at the TC Transcontinental facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Accounting Manager will lead and evaluate day-to-day activities of the accounting department and will serve as the owner of the accounting function and ensure accurate and timely reporting of data while maintaining proper internal controls for the plant and its satellite location in Albany, GA. The Accounting Manager works cross functionally with the sales, production, purchasing, customer service and accounting teams to provide needed information and will report directly to the Multi-site Financial Operations Controller.We have been driving innovation since 1976. At TC Transcontinental, we lead the industry by cultivating a sense of belonging for all.When our benefits transform your daily life.* Group insurance (including life, disability, dental and travel insurance)* Supplier discounts on various products* Permanent full-time, in-office position* Participatory managementWhen your actions lead to success.General Accounting / Financial Reporting* Provide quality accounting expertise to internal collaborators* Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department consisting of 2-3 professionals through development, performance management and evaluation.* Achieve the accuracy and efficiency of transactional accounting procedures including but not limited to month/year-end closing, GL reconciliations (including capital assets), journal entries, cost accounting* Ensuring adherence to controls, legal and corporate requirements (GAAP, IFRS, 52-109)* Support local functions: inventory counts/reporting, customer invoicing/credits* Support centralized functions: AR/AP, standard operation rates* Ensure preparation of financial analyses and reports according to operational and strategic objectives; reporting in a timely manner following all prescribed policies.Delivering Financial Results Partnership* Responsible for safeguarding the company assets and communicating issues in a timely manner (i.e. fixed assets, inventories, receivables, liabilities, provisions, etc.)Additional Tasks * Proactively coaches and motivates employees in the accounting department* Cross-train with appropriate accounting positions to serve as backup, as needed* Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all employees* Assist with State and Local tax compliance and reporting requirements.* Provide company financial data to internal and appointed external auditors.* Participates and gets involved in associated committees, activities and events.* Related projects and accounting duties, as requested.When your expertise drives us.* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment.* Strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate with all plant functions and corporate.* Well-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills* Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of detail accuracy.* Understanding and use of ERP Systems.* Advanced Excel skills and data manipulation.* Ability to travel (estimated 10-15%) to Albany location.Why join the team?* You will integrate a global organization, in strong growth and in full transformation.* You will work with team of passionate experts, who help each other and collaborate actively.* You will work daily in collaboration with accounting professionals located all around the world.* You will have all the coaching and training tools to ensure your success and your career development.When our contribution creates the future.A pillar in its various sectors of activity, TC Transcontinental inspires by its desire to create a responsible and united world.
