Community Relations Manager - Berrien Springs (Full-Time)

This is a Hybrid Work Eligible position. You will be required to come into the Operations Center in Berrien Springs, MI as needed to ensure business needs are met.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Honor cares about the communities we serve! Are you passionate about nurturing and growing brand awareness? We want YOU to help us get the word out and help continue to evolve our community relations strategy!
  • Responsible for promoting brand awareness throughout Honor's service area and advancing relationships with current and prospective members through public relations, media relations, social media, sponsorships, events, content creation, CRM, email and other activities that connect and engage with members and the general public.
  • Works closely with the Director of Marketing, manages the Community Relations team, and works closely with marketing team members and other internal departments.
  • Leads the Community Relations Team through activities including social media, sponsorships, events, media relations, financial education, member communications and content and collateral creation.
  • Designs, implements, evaluates performance, and continuously improves the organizational community relations strategy to increase awareness and affinity for the Honor brand.
  • Understands the unique needs and opportunities in each of our service areas and ensures each market is adequately supported.
  • Ensures that Honor's brand, mission, values and presence are communicated consistently through community outreach initiatives aligned with Honor's business goals.
  • Oversees quality and effective communication with Honor's membership base to curate consistently exceptional member experiences and promote relevant products and services that help members achieve financial success.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field; or an equivalent combination training and work experience.
  • PR, Content Marketing or Brand Management certifications from education providers or industry groups such as Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) or HubSpot are desired.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Five to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience in communications management with demonstrated proficiency in brand management, content strategy, social media management, written and multi-media content strategy, event planning, and working with news media.
  • Experience using CRM software and personnel management are highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Must have excellent writing, proofreading, and oral communication skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to keep finances in order.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management skills, well-organized and have an excellent eye for detail.
  • Handle issues with tact, diplomacy, and an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Understands and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
