Huntsman is seeking a Maintenance Technician, supporting the Advance Materials Division located in East Lansing, MI. This position will report to Plant Manager.

Position Summary

Huntsman's Advanced Materials Division is now searching for a new Maintenance Technician who will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to facility, building, rotating equipment and mixing equipment; interface with contractors to provide EHS contractor safety orientation, safe systems of work, fabrication and repair requirements. This role is an active, full member of the maintenance team, located in East Lansing, Michigan.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Complete assigned preventative maintenance work orders
• Determine root cause of equipment failure and communicate to supervisor and/or contractor.
• Order parts and maintain parts availability.
• Able to read drawings, prints and instruction manuals to determine proper steps to be taken for equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Work collaboratively with associates with different backgrounds and perspectives.
• Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
• Participate in and complete company-required training programs.
• Proficient in Excel and Word, and trainable in other software such as Infor EAM maintenance software.
• Able to work with power tools and have basic skills in plumbing (including soldering and using pipe threader and working with PVC piping, welding and use torch press).

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in Maintenance.
• The candidate to be considered for this role will require to work first shift and OT as required.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge & exposure on maintenance tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• High focus on root cause of equipment failures.
• Communication skills as position that interfaces with various departments and contractors.
• Dealing with ambiguity and priority setting.
• Proven understanding of day-to-day business activities, reporting and operations.
• Detail oriented capable to see the big picture and apply this in expediting tasks.
• Computer literacy.
• Journeyman Machine Repairer
• Experience with positive displacement pumps, vacuum pumps, and ovens
• Confined Space entry and rescue
• Skilled to operate scissor lifts and fork trucks.
• Skilled to work at heights.
