Description
The Steelcase tax team is a group of experts that partners globally with all aspects of our business to enable innovation and growth, while striving to be a leader in cooperation, compliance, and transparency with governments around the world.

The Tax Analyst will assist in accomplishing the following for entities in assigned area:
  • Income Tax Accounting - Performing ASC740 tax accounting activities, including assisting the tax team in the calculation of current and deferred tax assets/liabilities, effective tax rates, and recording of income tax entries for quarterly and annual financial statement filings.
  • Tax Compliance - Assist in the preparation and timely filing of the Company's tax requirements including federal and state and local income tax returns for the Company and its subsidiary companies, quarterly estimated tax payments, and international tax compliance.
  • Audit Management - Coordinate with internal and external departments for data required to file tax returns and complete audit exams.
  • Planning - Identify opportunities to streamline and improve tax processes and systems to enhance efficiency. Research and analyze tax issues, including legislative changes, IRS guidance, and international tax laws and regulations. Assist with BEPS Pillar II implementation and strategy.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in business finance, accounting or related degree
  • 2+ years of tax experience
  • Proficient understanding in state and local and U.S. income tax and accounting laws and the relationship to U.S. GAAP
  • Able to build positive business relationships with internal and external customers and work effectively with governmental agencies, legal counsel, tax advisors and participates in tax advisory groups
  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills; adapts technical subject matter to the audience
  • Able to negotiate minor issues with tax authorities
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • U.S. International tax experience
  • CPA certification
