The Instrument & Controls Technician will maintain, repair and install instrument equipment within the Trinseo Maintenance Work Process.

This is an onsite position in Midland, MI, Monday-Friday. There is the option of 8 hour workdays, M-F or the "9/80 schedule" - working 80 hours over 9 days, with alternating Fridays off.

Responsibilities

The Instrument & Controls Technician will provide/use Instrument expertise to complete:

    Maintain, repair and install instrument equipment for their area of responsibility.
  • Set up and calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of electrical controls, instruments, and electronic variables.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and help document failure analysis.
  • Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Make recommendations & assist plant personnel to Reduce plant I/E maintenance costs.
  • Assist with building and implementing equipment strategies for instrumentation and other critical instrument systems.
  • Follow and participate in plant safety initiatives and policies.
  • Periodically respond to off-hours calls for plant support.
Qualifications
  • Postsecondary Degree in Instrument Technology or equivalent industry experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years Industry experience in the field of Instrument Repair
  • Experience with ABB or equivalent required
  • Journeyman status strongly preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of current instrument technology.
