Job Description

The Fastener Program Manager leads the development of robust quality, timing, and weight efficient designs that meet program objectives as related to fasteners. This individual will be responsible for the following:

  • Drive innovation/communization/standardization strategies
  • Maintain a torque list and report out on joint reviews and joint testing status to management as well as program teams
  • Monitor and report out on PF safety compliance
  • Develop, maintain, and report out to program teams the release status of fasteners (released vs disclosed vs undisclosed)
  • Assist manufacturing with torque processing issues
  • Facilitate EHPV reductions when possible
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to ensure that manufacturing has the data needed to order and receive the correct fastening tool in time to meet program timing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
  • Eight years of engineering including at least five years of fastener engineering experience
  • Fastened joint design review experience
  • Fastener manufacturing knowledge/experience
  • Ability to interact with customers
  • Ability to read and understand component drawings and GD&T

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fastener lab testing experience (torque specification development)
  • Fastener selection/recommendation experience
  • Powertrain component releasing
  • System calibration experience
