Job Description

The Hybrid Controls Software Validation Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in performing Verification and Validation (V&V) activities on hybrid controls software at a system level. The Supervisor will lead the team in developing requirements based test cases and providing specification clarification feedback through RAR forms. They will also be responsible for developing new test cases based on new technology, customer use cases, DFSS System Behavioral Tests, and lessons learned.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide final buyoff of the master DVP&R template
  • Collaborate with controls, calibration, and HIL teams to prepare validation properties for testing
  • Schedule and drive V&V loops to completion at major milestones
  • Provide support in determining root cause of failures found in testing
  • Document failures in the appropriate issue management system
  • Maintain global consistency with EMEA and LATAM
  • Review change requests and provide impact to testing plans
  • Ensure all testing aligns with the powertrain controls test strategy

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering design, development, validation, and vehicle launch experience
  • Familiarity with the V development process
  • Knowledge of powertrain systems and test properties such as HIL and SIL
  • Experience with validation methodologies and processes
  • FCA vehicle program timing understanding
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or System Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • DFSS certified Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Fundamental knowledge of hybrid, electric automotive architectures
  • Experience in testing using test properties such as but not limited to: HIL/emulator/dyno/vehicle etc.
  • Knowledgeable in CARB OBD and federal diagnostic requirements
