Mainframe and Storage Platform Manager

Job Description
The Mainframe and Storage Platform Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day activities in both new mainframe (compute and storage) as well as distributed storage build/refresh and run/operations for the FCA NAFTA Infrastructure team. Responsibilities include team management, supplier management, proactive monitoring, problem solving, strategic planning and resource development. The candidate will ensure that the daily operations of the mainframes and storage environments are stable, performant, efficient, leveraging speed to delivery, automation and risk management. Hardware and software provisioning as well as maintenance renewal processes are also included.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of management experience
- Minimum 3 years of project planning, project management experience
- Experience in both mainframe operations and/or storage operations activities
- Experience managing and developing teams
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks independently
- Must be able to define and track tasks, identify risks and establish priorities in a high energy environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Project management and leadership experience delivering large scale development projects
- Proven track record working in a cross functional team environment.
- Ability to indirectly lead cross-functional team towards common solutions
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong peer relationships
- Results-oriented approach to problem solving and business solutions driving win-win solutions
- Self-starter, highly motivated individual with excellent communication and presentation skills
- 5 years of management experience in infrastructure
