About this Position

We are currently looking for Vehicle Test & Validation Engineering Group Manager in our Troy, Michigan location. The successful candidate will be working to lead Vehicle Test and Validation (VT&V) activities for Active Safety development projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Systems EGM - VTV is responsible to track the engineering budget for their competency / Product Line / Segment, they escalate concerns to their Chief when budget or staffing become insufficient to accomplish all assigned tasks
  • The Systems EGM - VTV supervises the Systems VTV Engineers in their Product Line / Segment, and additionally, they develop, evaluate, motivate, train, manage, reward and recognize employees, they also have the initial input on merit and promotions for their organization
  • Lead and supervise on complying with VT&V corporate procedures
  • Lead and supervise on creating test development schedules and test execution schedules utilizing test resources at local and remote VT&V sites
  • Perform strategic plan on verification testing activities in engineering execution, product quality, customer/supplier relationship, continuous improvement, team management and make sure standard work and best practices are being applied to products
  • Provide interface between Product Engineers and Systems Engineers at remote sites where global development and test resources are assigned

Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience with CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, XCP, vehicle bus
  • 5+ years experience with ADAS
  • 5+ Vehicle level testing experience
  • 5+ years experience designing Functional Test Plans

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working with automotive OEM in the field of vehicle systems or systems verification or design release
  • Autonomous driving technology development or engineering as automotive tiers or OEM preferred
  • Expertise in vehicle communication network and diagnostics
  • Experience in vehicle development program from concept design to launch
  • Expertise in PPAP process
  • Experience in customer priority setting and change management
  • Group or team leader or supervisor position experience preferred
