Summary

Aptiv is a leading supplier of vision, radar, and radar-vision fusion systems to the automotive Active Safety and autonomous driving market (https://www.aptiv.com/). The systems use radar and vision to detect vehicles, pedestrians, road markings, traffic signs, and other features to improve the driver's ability to remain aware of the driving situation and when necessary take active control of the vehicle to avoid accidents. This ADAS Features Algorithm Developer position is located in our Troy, MI office.

Responsibilities

• Algorithm Development for ADAS features based on internal or external customer requirement e.g. Traffic Sign Information, Driver State Estimation, & Beam Control
• Data analysis to evaluate algorithm performance and root-cause issues
• In-Vehicle testing and real-time calibration with MicroAutoBox and Vector Tools
• Closely collaborate with customers from different OEMs to understand the requirements, communicate the progress to drive successful feature development intended for mass production vehicle lines
• Closely collaborate with different internal competencies towards successful product launch
• Feature performance assessment, reporting and improvement

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

• Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering, Robotics or similar technical discipline
• 3+ years hands-on experience in algorithm development or data analysis within MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++ environment
• 1+ years academic or industry experience with:
  • Control systems (Automotive vehicle control, close-loop control)
  • Machine Learning (Supervised Learning, CNN/RNN/DNN, Tensorflow)
  • Vehicle dynamics (Bicycle modeling, tire modelling, full DOF vehicle modeling)
  • Numerical methods (general e.g. Newton's method, Convergence)
  • Statistic methods (Linear regression, Bayesian inference, PDF, Hypothesis testing, etc.)

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

• PhD student in Engineering, CS, robotics, or similar technical discipline
• Automotive industry experience, preferably in the field of ADAS
• Experience with ADAS sensor e.g. Radar or Camera
• Experience of developing AUTOSAR compliant algorithm
• Knowledge or experience on ASPICE procedure
• Experience with production code generation
• Excellent communication, team work & social skills, goal-oriented and structured way of working
