Job Description

The Powertrain Synthesis and Analysis Senior Engineer will be responsible for analyzing fuel economy, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and certain drivability aspects using test data evaluation and computer modeling (simulation) of conventional and electrified powertrains. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for communicating analysis results in oral presentations and written reports, working together with vehicle engineering, powertrain engineering, and planning to establish competitive trends, program targets and identify gaps and opportunities for Fiat Chrysler Automobile products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Matlab and data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with EPA fuel economy regulations and procedures
  • Experience modeling of electrified powertrain components and/or systems
  • Experience creating virtual models and correlate to real world results
  • Knowledge of advanced powertrain technology
  • Experience with gas and diesel engine technology
  • Experience with hybrid technology
  • Capable of quickly managing/processing large amounts of data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience leading projects
