Job Description

The Vehicle Integration – System Integration Responsible (SIR) Engineer will be responsible for voice of the customer development, customer functional objectives target setting, and vehicle level DVP&R development and execution. The SIR will support the vehicle integration and validation process by owning and maintaining functional objective scorecard, leading the attribute team and supporting tech club and vehicle program requests. The SIR will investigate and analyze vehicle issues for root causes and issue the appropriate documentation for resolution, including leading the team where the issue crosses multiple vehicle disciplines. The SIR will lead and support ride and drive events, overnight evaluations, and trips with vehicle updates and diagnostic tools. The SIR will also provide mule vehicle support, mule vehicle build support, and mule issue resolution support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
  • Five years of engineering experience
  • Strong desire to understand customer wants and vehicle development program
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to summarize and present work
  • Willing to travel (development trips, VoC events, support events, rides..)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
  • Experience in/with Powertrain calibration/software/component design
  • Experience and understanding of vehicle diagnostics (CDA)
  • Data acquisition and analysis (INCA, DCPlot, CANAlyzer or similar)
  • Hands on testing and validation experience
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, design validation (DV) and process validation (PV) (DVPR), and test planning
  • DFSS Greenbelt certified
