Job Description
FCA is looking for a senior engineer with established experience and competence in model based systems engineering to help develop and institutionalize the Model-Based Systems Engineering(MBSE) practice in FCA powertrain. This individual would be responsible for delivering processes, methods and tools for effective development of powertrain control modules using requirements engineering and MBSE techniques.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Establish Requirement Management and MBSE methods, tools, and best practices
  • Support deployment of methods and tools within systems engineering community, initially starting with a core team to ensure efficient introduction to the larger team
  • Influence, as necessary, roadmaps with respect to internal projects as well as external forums (INCOSE, etc.)
  • Interface with vendors / consultants, as required, to facilitate implementation of industry best-practice strategies
  • Interface with FCA IT organization for tool procurements, launches, and support
  • Coordinate related training needs to support large global organization
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree is required from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience
  • Demonstrated model based systems engineering experience
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Experience working cross functionally
  • Self-starter with the ability to accomplish objectives with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience with transitioning from standard approaches (for example based on textual requirements) to MBSE
  • Involvement in related industry forums (INCOSE, etc.)
  • Experience with IBM CLM tools, most specifically Rhapsody or comparable environments
