Under general supervision, performs difficult repair, alteration and modernization craft projects within their respective craft specialties. Is responsible for determining the skills required and estimating the employee hours, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to accomplish the work. Is expected to recognize occupational hazards associated with work in their respective craft specialties and to exercise appropriate safety measures.
Is responsible for recognizing and evaluating difficult and/or complex problems that arise during the course of a project and for taking appropriate remedial actions. Assists supervisors in making facility inspections to determine repairs necessary to buildings and equipment, and is called upon to advise and recommend to higher level maintenance employees procedures required to correct difficult and/or emergency maintenance situations. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
WITHIN FACILITIES MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS
Under general supervision, performs duties requiring expert ability in one of the following structural, finishing or mechanical building crafts: heating, or building operations. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
