Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: Acquire Promega product knowledge and support skills to provide scientific technical support to customers, both internally and externally. Apply knowledge of scientific techniques and Promega's product line to assist customers in Promega products choice, experimental design, use and troubleshooting.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Provide scientific support on Promega products and related application via telephone, chat and email to domestics, international and internal customers.

2. Track, record, and document relevant information from inquires and complaints in Promega's contact management systems as defined by Quality Process and corporate and department guidelines.

3. Perform follow-up activities with customers contacts as required.

4. Act as a liaison between the customer and various departments at Promega including global Technical Support Services, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Regulatory, Manufacturing and Marketing teams to provide support on existing products and communicate ideas for improved or new applications and products.

5. Act as a liaison with Promega's international distributors and branch offices.

6. Attend and participate in training and courses for increased job and career related skills including but not limited to new TSS training, new product technical training, R&D meetings.

7. Use time management skills to accomplish assigned customer contact support described in duties 1-6 as well as occasional duties included but not limited to editing/proofing technical literature, developing resources for product support, interviewing potential job candidates and attend team and company meetings.

10. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. MS degree or PhD degree in molecular biology, cell biology, protein biochemistry, or related area.

2. 2+ years research lab experience and proven knowledge and understanding of core applications of molecular biology, cell biology, and/or protein biochemistry.

3. Ability to discuss fundamental, principles and technical theory of experimental design, techniques, and results in a clear and concise manner.

4. Technical competency with the ability to stay current in technical knowledge to troubleshoot technical questions from customers and provide information back to the customer in a helpful, courteous, positive, and professional manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Excellent communication and listening skills, both verbal and written.

2. Customer service skills with a dedication to customer support.

3. Computer experience including PC network, Windows, Word, Excel, Internet, etc.

4. Previous skills in oral presentations, teaching, training, and technical writing/editing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Continuous use of the computer, including the keyboard and mouse, as well as the ability to use the computer simultaneously while on the telephone.
