JOB TITLE:  IR Welder Fabricator A                                   DATE:   April 2022

PLANT/DEPARTMENT:   Fabrication                       DIRECTED BY:   Welder/Fabrication Team                                                                                                 Leader

IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:   
Team Leaders, Manufacturing Engineers, Machining, Process, Paint, and Production Control

DIRECTS:  None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Meets and demonstrates safety in the workplace. Ability to perform advanced welding and fabrication tasks as assigned.  Highly proficient at following and looking up weld procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria. Demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed routed hours with acceptable quality. 

MAJOR DUTIES:
 
  1. Welds and fabricates basic to advanced weldments with minimal quality errors (as outlined in LSSI stamping discipline procedure as well as dimensional nonconformance)
  2. Work from advanced drawings and job layouts (multiple pages/drawings)
  3. Understand and read weld symbols
  4. Advanced crane operations and rigging – larger, most complex
  5. Perform quality checks throughout process
  6. Operate hand burn plasma and torch
  7. Understand and apply weld sequencing
  8. Advanced fabrication techniques and application on larger, most complex
  9. Advanced straightening techniques
  10. Train and mentor other employees
  11. Other duties as assigned



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 60 pounds
  • Long periods of standing, kneeling, and climbing.
