Sr. Product Trainer - Diesel Systems

  1. Conduct training on Rolls-Royce Solutions America (RRSA) diesel engine equipment and systems, in house and at other locations
  2. Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such simulations, team exercises, group discussions, DVDs and lectures
  3. Make pre-training program arrangements such as classroom, tools, audio-visual equipment, parts, etc.
  4. Design and develop training programs and presentations on RRSA diesel engine equipment and systems, to fit specific customer needs
  5. Conduct distributor training audits and certify external trainers
  6. Assist management in writing Guild examinations
  7. Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness
  8. Maintain training documentation and records regarding attendance and certification requirements
  9. Prepare and conduct tours of Training Center for internal and external visitors
  10. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
  11. Perform special projects and assignments

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical Technology and five (5) years of field service, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience with power generation equipment; or nine (9) years field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience with power generation equipment
  2. Five (5) years' experience with RRSA diesel engine products and systems
  3. Strong knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
  4. Strong skills in the operation and troubleshooting of diesel power generation equipment, instrumentation and electronic engine and power generation controls
  5. Strong oral, written and technical presentation communication skills
  6. Strong knowledge of principles and methods for training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  7. Strong skills in the use of mechanical and electrical hand tools
  8. Strong skills in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
  9. Strong knowledge and field experience in diesel generation systems
  10. Strong knowledge in technical language and engineering terminology
  11. Strong knowledge in the practical principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumatics
  12. Strong factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skills
  13. Strong organizational, planning and follow up skills
  14. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills when problems are complex
  15. Ability to travel - domestic and international and upon short notice
  16. Proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:
  1. Knowledge of Rolls-Royce Solutions America policies and procedures
  2. Spanish technical language skills

Work Environment:

  1. Daily work is performed in a classroom environment and warehouse/shop environment
  2. While performing duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, crouch, reach, and / or grasp.
  3. Employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to manipulate small items such as a keyboard or mouse and is frequently required to walk within the work environment.
