Inside Sales Co-Op - NSK Corporation

The Company

The Inside Sales Co-Op Role

This position is responsible for an assigned group of customer accounts. The responsibilities include handling request for quotations, order maintenance, expediting orders, and forecasting. Has thorough working knowledge of ABS, ASPACS and NWINS as well as other related systems. Is customer focused and interfaces with customers and various departments to meet customer requirements. This position may be assigned leadership and training responsibilities. It is expected in this position that there is a high level of knowledge in all aspects of the job. Must be capable of working under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and manages incoming customer phone calls from assigned customers as well as overflow calls for other inside sales representative's customers; responds to e-mails and faxes from customers in a timely manner.
  • Enters orders, prepares and sends sales quotes, monitors status of existing orders, expedites shipments and addresses any customer service or product issue.
  • Locates appropriate products either in the U.S., globally, or utilizes purchased products with modifications; collaborate with BCD, domestic plants, procurement, and/or NSK Affiliates in other countries as necessary.
  • Builds aftermarket sales opportunity by demonstrating advanced technical knowledge of bearing and linear products as well as NSK tools, bearing heaters, and other purchased products; interprets NSK nomenclature, referencing appropriate resources.
  • Offers alternatives to competitor products based on interchanging bearing and linear products from competitor's part numbers. Offer products substitutions when appropriate. Strong knowledge of product modification options and when to offer. Work with engineering as needed to find the right product solutions.
  • Presents customers with product solutions that meet their needs through modification options, collaborating with engineering department to product solutions as appropriate.
  • Receives and processes orders, which may include working with other departments to have stock released, to have global stock transferred, or to order product.
  • Actively monitors and addresses lack of supply issues on open orders, including weekly monitoring of stock allocations and daily examination of shipping reservations.
  • Occasionally accompanies salespersons on sales calls involving travel.

Education & Experience

  • This job requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • The preferred formal education is a Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree.
  • This opportunity is available part-time to currently enrolled students.
  • This is a one-year program.
