Aon is Looking for a Broker I, Mid-Market, Southfield

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Middle Market Team in Southfield, MI.

This role is a hybrid working style. You will be expected to be in the office 2 to 3 days a week.

What the day will look like

As a Broker you will be focusing on handling new and exisiting business within the Middle Market Practice. You will build and cultivate relationships with internal teams, external partners and underwriters. You will bring your expertise and knowledge of a broad range of industries within Property & Casualty.

Essential job functions
  • Perform the duties of a Middle Market Property and Casualty Broker
  • Placement of new and renewal P&C programs including drafting submissions
  • Negotiate and place programs during renewal cycle
  • Analyze and review insurance programs for clients to determine optimum program including pricing, terms and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the carriers that write both Middle Market and Upper Middle Market P&C business
  • Mentor and help develop associate brokers on the team
  • Work as a team member and collaborate with other colleagues within the Aon
  • Support local broking team on loss analysis, benchmarking, data and analytics tools
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 3+ years of proven experience placing and servicing P&C business
  • Strong understanding of Middle Market P&C risks and carrier appetites
  • Broad relationships with the carriers that write Middle Market P&C business
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of proven experience.
  • Current Property & Casualty license

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $72,000 - $100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
