Monday-Thursday

3pm-1am

SUMMARY
As an employee at MEC, you will provide support to the quality department by inspection of product at various stages of the manufacturing process. You will ensure that product compiles with customer requirements by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.

    Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or standards in order to inspect product throughout the manufacturing processes to determine if it is fit for conformance or customer requirements. This can include dimensional, attribute, performance, mechanical or chemical characteristics.
  • Support calibration of tools and gages as required (experience with GAGEtrak a plus).
  • Utilize various types of measurement equipment required to evaluate product conformance (calipers, micrometers, gage pins, thread gages, etc)
  • Leads and/or supports gage R&R or related measurement system analysis activities as required.
  • Assist with identifying and correcting quality issues.
  • Assist in coordinating assigned quality assurance processes throughout all manufacturing operations.
  • Perform first-piece inspections to requirements.
  • Perform layered process audits and internal audits as scheduled.
  • Perform dimensional layouts as required.
  • Experience with inspection of metal cutting, forming and welding (AWS CWI preferred)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required; five years experience in manufacturing or engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to determine product status based on test & inspection results.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have or be willing to learn: Blueprint reading as applicable to manufacturing of metals, Geometric
Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Statistical Process Control (SPC) Measurement Techniques
(Metrology) Computer Application basics (Windows, Spreadsheets, etc.) Coordinate Measuring Machine applications (PC-DMIS) Ability to work with people (Team Player)
