ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a technical writer with HTML and CSS experience to join our Technical Writing team. OneStream contains complex OLAP, multi-dimensional, multi-server, multi-threading, web, and SQL technologies and is specifically designed to solve problems for the Office of the CFO at large corporations. In this position, you will review new features and solutions with our Product Management, Development, and QA teams to create product documentation and learning materials including user reference guides, design guides, installation manuals, help documents, code snippets, and videos. This position requires effective research, writing, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate is flexible, accountable, driven, and creative, able to write succinctly and compellingly, and has experience with HTML and CSS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Product Owners, Development, and Quality Assurance teams to capture product capabilities in task-based documentation, conveying complex technical ideas to a potentially non-technical audience.
  • Provide User Guides, Release Notes, Installation Guides and other deliverables for major releases and hotfixes.
  • Ensure content is technically accurate, reviewed, free of spelling and grammatical errors, and complies with departmental standards.


DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Formal Education and Certification

  • BA/BS Degree in English, Technical Communications, Technical Writing, Communications, or Journalism.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant experience writing technical, customer-facing material.
  • Comfortable writing and editing HTML and CSS code.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders on different corporate teams and management levels.
  • Experience with MadCap Flare a plus.
  • Understanding of industry standards and best practices such as single sourcing, XML, and content management.
  • Experience working in an Agile development process a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Atlassian Confluence a plus.
  • Exposure to Information Technology, Accounting, or Finance a plus.
