Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Assist the senior design team in creating innovative and sustainable outdoor spaces. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to develop concepts and transform them into detailed designs.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Assist with the initial design concept based on client input, site analysis, and project goals.
  • Develop the design concept as the project evolves.
  • Conduct site analysis to understand topography, climate, soil, and existing vegetation.
  • Research and select appropriate plant materials
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design intent is realized.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentation materials including drawings, renderings, and visualizations.
  • Assist with the preparation of construction documentation
  • Function as team support on projects across all offices and sectors.
  • Prepare and monitor project status reports.
  • Prepare and document required code research for project.
  • Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary.
  • Interface with other discipline team members.
  • Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree highly recommended.
  • Minimum three years' experience in A/E industry preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services from schematic design through project close-out, including design and technical expertise.
  • A working understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Possess the ability to motivate and mentor staff, and delegate work assignments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD, Adobe Suite, and Land FX preferred
  • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project and construction meetings.
  • Ability to access existing and new project sites for observation, investigation and evaluation purposes.
  • Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
