Overview (Scope of Role)

The Supply Chain Planner will manage the planning and operational elements of the NAA Plastic Solutions Supply Chain. Growth is a key element of the Plastics Solutions Plastics/Automotive business strategy, ensuring we can meet the service and cost needs to support the region.

The role will also be the focal point for all NAA and Mexico Outplants ensuring that SCS and other functions can properly deliver against the needs for this critically important and growing business. This is a complex, higher value business that has unique needs in terms of raw materials, lot size, lead times, etc.

This position is a hybrid position located in Midland, Michigan, requiring at least 2 days in office per week. Some Travel will be required.

Responsibilities

    Provide detailed production schedules to satisfy customer demand requirements while optimizing the utilization of the assets and continuously driving for lowest possible investment in inventory as directed by the business leadership.
  • Maintains and communicates capacity and production plans ensuring accuracy, supply continuity, and alignment with operations
  • Creates supply chain capacity options in support of customer business continuity plans, and provides thought leadership and checks and balances on balancing this commitment vs. competing growth pipeline
  • Responsible for maintaining a sufficient supply of raw materials at each site, and communicating forward requirements to our vendors to ensure proper supply will be available and contractual obligations are met.
  • Close coordination with purchasing is required to strategically plan around raw material price increase/decrease to give Trinseo the best possible cost position.
  • The planner will work closely with customer service, product management, and technical group to coordinate and plan for business success.
  • Coordinate strategic raw material movements of ABS and PC globally for overall NAA needs, working with planners and plants across all regions.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (supply chain/logistics concentration preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in production planning/scheduling
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with SAP ECC operating system is a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge plant and contract manufacturing capabilities and logistics operations
  • Ability to analyze and understand elements of costs related to overall supply chain operations, raw material management, manufacturing, packaging, logistics, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills to support cross functional communication with production, purchasing, third party support, and commercial organization
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully facilitate cross-functional meetings
  • Data based decision making, make sound decisions that will enhance customer satisfaction and provide business value
