Job Description

The Henry Ford Plymouth ED is an 18 bed, freestanding ER that is connected to a medical center. Our providers (both physicians and MLPs) see PEDS and adult patients, and take EMS traffic, when appropriate. Our staff work closely together and share a central workstation. Since opening in September 2022, we have also collaborated very closely with pharmacy, lab, US, and especially radiology. In line with HFH values, we respect and appreciate diversity, both in ourselves and in those we treat. We aim to continuously seek out and provide best and safest practices, caring for our patients as we would our family and loved ones.

Headed by a Director, a Nurse Manager, and a Nursing Supervisor who are supportive and present, this newer department is a melting pot of team members who are committed to excellence. We strive to remain hyper-focused on safety and teamwork through constant re-evaluation and keeping open lines of communication. Our team has been and will continue to be dedicated to looking out for each other and working together to provide the best care to our patients and community.

Among other duties, our EDTs here can expect to do blood draws, EKGs, vital signs/assisting with triage, bladder scanning, and assisting in codes. Often our EDTs will be required to sit and monitor our behavioral health patients 1:1. We see many elderly patients, which contributes to us seeing a large number of fall patients. Splinting is common, as is basic wound care. Both nurses and EDTs work together with housekeeping to keep treatment rooms and our department clean.
