We are looking for a highly experienced leader to oversee our Observer Service Line. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the Ipsos US leadership team and ensure the overall growth and profitability of the business unit. You will have ultimate responsibility for all functions within the business - Client Success, Operations, Technical Operations, Business Development and Marketing.

The Service Line Leader ("SLL"), Observer will partner internally with key executive leaders across the Ipsos organization; and externally with our key clients to grow the business and improve the client experience. The SLL will leverage deep industry relationships, mixed with research expertise, to open new doors, spark relevant client conversations, drive new and maintained business, and ultimately empower senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

In this role, the SLL will need to have strong leadership and communication skills, good business acumen and a sharp strategic mind. The SLL will need to develop a clear vision for the business; be exceptional at developing people and managing a diverse team; and have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay focused on clients and growing the US business.

What you can expect to be doing:

Leadership Activities and Team Management:

  • Lead and direct a team of about 40 direct and indirect reports
  • Conduct regular 1:1's with directs reports and management
  • Lead monthly employee town halls
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings
  • Attend various Global Service Line meetings and support global transversal initiatives
  • Set talent acquisition strategy, conduct regular talent reviews, oversee performance appraisal/merit increase and promotion processes, ensure career development programs are in place

Business Planning Pipeline Management, Financials, Forecasts:

  • Set strategic vision for Observer
  • Participate in quarterly strategic planning and annual budgeting process
  • Manage weekly team meetings to discuss workflow, pipeline and research pipeline
  • Create monthly financial forecast
  • Together with management team own and manage the P&L, staff chargeability, turnover and other KPI's of the business
  • Write short monthly executive report

Business Development, Pricing, RFP, and Pitch Reviews:

  • Support business development leadership
  • Support team with reviewing or leading pitches
  • Review pricing and major proposals
  • Ensure proper implementation of Win and Retain programs

Client Activities:

  • Serve as executive sponsor on key accounts
  • Attend key account quarterly business reviews
  • Serve as escalation point for important issues and teams
  • Be actively involved in both new wins and client retention process

Functional Initiatives:

  • Direct and support various business development, human resource, operations, engineering, and marketing initiatives

This might be the job for you if you have:

  • Broad and deep experience within the Public Affairs research space encompassing a range of industries, clients, and programs
  • Knowledge of the Public Affairs partner ecosystem, experience working directly with the US federal government
  • A market-recognized leader in research and survey methods
  • Financial management, Financials, Forecasts
  • Business Development, Pricing, RFP, and Pitch Reviews
  • Leadership Activities and Team Management
  • Strong connections within the industry that will lead to tangible growth
  • Exceptional client service focus with the ability to confidently deal with executives and clients contacts at a senior management level
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office with above average PowerPoint skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 to $300,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
