Title: Project Manager - CTS

$90,000 - $100,000 / Posted Thru: 5-7-24

Location: Hybrid - Okemos, MI Office

Purpose: The Project Manager - CTS will manage multiple custom web application development projects using agile methodologies and provide leadership for projects, as well as setting and improving team standards and processes. Responsibilities include managing scope, capacity, timeframes, sprints, standups, changes. Client management is a critical component of this position. Responsibilities also include business development. Must be a
self-starter with strong technical, software, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Azure Dev Ops and Scrum/Agile certification is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the project manager on multiple assigned projects, following documented processes and procedures, and providing regular status and risk updates to the team and client.
  • Guide team through the requirements, development, testing, and implementation stages of the project and reviews the completed work effectively and efficiently.
  • Serve as the project lead, documenting project activities, managing scope and capacity, setting timelines, identifying, and prioritizing tasks, managing change requests, reporting project status.
  • Use independent judgement to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs.
  • Take ownership of whole applications and projects, serving as needed in different roles to ensure project success.
  • Provide experience and expertise in removing impediments, software development processes, and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
  • Work with internal and external staff, clients, and partners to ensure that applications developed meet needs and expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with teams and clients and serve as a single point of contact for the project.
  • Recommend, define, and document industry standard best practices for team implementation.
  • Responsible for advancing business development opportunities for the CTS team.
  • Maintain a positive, strong, credible, professional, and interpersonal relationship with all parties relevant to MPHI projects and always represent the best interest of MPHI.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree.

Experience: A minimum of four years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in software development. Experience in Project Management; Scrum/Agile certification is a plus.

  • Experience with managing scope, capacity, timeframes, sprints, standups, impediments, and change order requests is a must.
  • Self-starter with strong technical, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills sets is required.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops and Scrum/Agile certification is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment of <50# and involves viewing a CRT or VDT screen 25% to 75% of the time. Standard office environment, possibly in multiple locations. Job will require some statewide travel and the possession of a valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position.
