Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)
Schedule: 6:00PM - 6:00AM Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to operate out of our Grand Rapids location. The Maintenance Technician maintains and troubleshoots equipment and machinery to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for equipment safety.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve all equipment malfunction of plant machinery.
- Assembly, dis-assembly, and upgrade of converting/extrusion equipment as required.
- Document all maintenance activities and champion preventative maintenance programs.
- Take proactive measures to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- All other duties as assigned.
Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Must have troubleshooting and problem resolution experience.
- Ability to complete assignments with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and blueprint drawings.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions including basic mathematical skills.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
- Ability to train on days before moving to nights.
Education and Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or credentialed equivalent in English & Mathematics.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a Maintenance role.
- Must have Mechanical experience. Electrical preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Position Type
- Full time.
- Overtime expected per business demand.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds and endure elevated temperature levels.
