General Purpose of Job:

Acts as a representative of the Environmental Services Dept. in providing a sanitary and safe patient care environment. Conducting themselves in a professional and cooperative manner at all times.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

• Completes daily work completion and documentation log form for assignments of patient room cleaning, patient care areas and general areas. Stocks all units with Environmental Services supplies.
• Removes waste, trash and recycling materials. Transports waste materials in appropriate containers to designated disposal areas. Handles soiled linen and infectious waste. Assists in clean up of bodily waste, hazardous material spills and other duties as required.
• Cleans equipment, per policy and procedure.
• Maintains hospital standards of participating in mandatory in-services and other mandatory hospital/departmental requirements.

Job Requirements

General Requirements	None
Work Experience	Previous healthcare experience in environmental services preferred
Education	High School Diploma or GED
Specialized Knowledge and Skills	Needs to be detail-oriented and be able to work accurately on a timely basis Must be able to work independently with little supervision
