To advance our mission, we are seeking a Design Intern for the Early Childhood Health Outdoors (ECHO) initiative to join our staff, working out of the Rocky Mountain Regional Center in Denver, Colorado.

The NWF IT Helpdesk intern will work in the Reston, VA office and remotely to assist the IT Helpdesk team in all aspects of IT support. The scope of the internship will include configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software, assisting with computer inventory, shipping of equipment and creating documentation. Additionally, the intern will assist with reviewing stats and activity within security applications. They will participate in department/team meetings and be assigned tasks pertaining to IT projects.

Responsibilities:

* Configures and troubleshoots PC and Mac hardware and software, mobile devices, printers, and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft 365, Windows10, macOS, etc.
* Meets with teammates and department management regarding assignments, progress, and patterns/trends relating to end user needs
* Assist other IT staff with testing applications and processes using Microsoft Intune
* Help maintain computer inventory and other IT hardware
* Assist other IT staff with creating documentation and knowledgebase articles
* Review and maintain devices in security applications
* Work with mailroom staff to ship IT equipment

Qualifications:

* Proficient with Microsoft Office, Windows and Mac operating systems
* Good assessment and problem solving skills; information gathering and monitoring skills
* Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly
* Strong communication skills; written and verbal
* Works well under pressure and maintains a professional demeanor.
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to work within a team environment

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example, using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about the workspace. The position requires mobility, including moving materials weighing up to 30 pounds (such as a laptops, monitors, and other computer equipment).

Location and Work Mode:

This is a hybrid position which reports to Headquarters (HQ) in Reston, VA and onsite work will be required twice a week. Compensation

This position pays $18.50 an hour with paid holidays.

This is a paid short-term internship (15 hours per week) opportunity with the National Wildlife Federation. NWF is happy to work with the applicant to obtain relevant credit(s) through college/university programming, such as directed independent study (DIS), internship credit hours, etc. Applicant should indicate if they intend to pursue this in application letter. The work schedule is flexible to accommodate your schedule.
