Job Description

OVERVIEW:

Henry Ford Health has historically been a leader in care delivery and has taken the initiative to create a Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) across the health system to enable value-based care delivery across the enterprise by combining our physician networks to coordinate care, improve our quality measures, enhance efficiencies and better empower our patients in their own healthcare journeys. The CIN will focus on implementing new care delivery models and technologies to improve outcomes for patients while reducing costs of services for all. As the creation of the CIN is underway, Henry Ford Health is seeking an experienced healthcare operations executive to lead the work in the role of Chief Network Services Officer.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides strategic and operational leadership to drive achievement of performance, growth, and contracting strategy for the Henry Ford Health Clinically Integrated Network's large pluralistic network of participating providers including employed medical groups, independent providers and/or provider associations, facilities, and ancillary providers over a broad geography.

Additionally, the Chief Network Services Officer oversees strategic and innovative provider and payor collaborations and applies exceptional relationship management and value-based contracting expertise to establish and achieve network growth goals. This role acts as the principal operational leader for Network services including oversight of provider membership management, payor programs, contractual and regulatory compliance, and implementation of clinical program and practice transformation interventions to maximize Network performance in value-based care.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in health care administration, Health Sciences, Business, Health Care Administration, or related field.
  • Ten (10) years of administrative experience in a senior level role with proven leadership skills and ability to execute strategy and drive performance results in a complex organization.
  • Experience should include responsibility for fiscal and human resource management, along with knowledge of effective clinical programs.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with clinical integration and payor contracting in a physician/hospital organization, health plan or a physician organization.
  • Experience should include providing leadership for provider/clinical/payor performance management.
  • Proven experience working effectively with physicians and other clinical leaders in a multidisciplinary environment, with record of working across organizational lines to achieve excellence in outcomes.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills to lead and manage a complex organizational change agenda.
  • Skill to oversee and orchestrate administrative functions to improve operational performance and develop and lead integrated decision-making across a complex, integrated system of multiple constituents with diverse and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated vision and understanding of healthcare financing, clinical integration strategy and value-based care, with experience developing innovative payment/financing models with health insurers and employers.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical integration and value-based care, including development of alternative delivery systems, clinical improvement processes and clinical information and data management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate value proposition of clinically integrated care and experience successfully engaging providers, payors, and other partners in value-based care arrangements.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of all business aspects of health care with particular emphasis in physician network strategic development and growth, along with experience in assessing and structuring physician partnerships and management of physician and hospital relationships.
  • Ability to manage complex systems, performance strategies and change leadership, and ability to assess and assimilate industry trends and predict future relevance and applicability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience facilitating cross-section collaboration between clinicians, healthcare administration, payors, and ancillary providers to improve value-based outcomes.
