As a Senior Network Administrator for the 513 EWS you will provide ongoing support for the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN). The ideal candidate will design, install, maintain, and coordinate the use of network systems. Monitor and manage data traffic/network performance and control network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. (09.1v1)
Essential Functions:
Provide technical solutions and manage software, hardware, configurations, and architectures, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers
Evaluate existing network systems to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements
Analyze customer requirements to determine optimal network solutions
Maintains operating efficiency and stability, and ensures the security and integrity of all systems and data
Monitor network performance; troubleshoot and resolve complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network
Apply subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues; authority to deviate from standard operating procedures with coordinated approval
Creates, maintains, and deletes user accounts
Plans, installs, and maintains multiple classified network systems
May provide installation, maintenance and repair of network hardware and software
Develop and/modify processes and technical documentation to support customer; develop/maintain test plans, back-up procedures, and related reports
Plans and diagrams the physical layout and location of devices and the connection between devices participating on the network
Evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades to customer leadership
May function in a "Tier 3" support role, resolving the most complex network issues escalated by Tier 2 support
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve in advisory capacity representing team/task lead roles.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is required (due to sensitivity of customer requirements).
Associate degree or higher in technical related curriculum from an accredited university / branch of service and applicable Certifications with 10+ years relevant experience.
Active DoD Secret level clearance; ability to maintain clearance during employment.
Security + or equivalent certification
