Strategic Business Planning Manager, Electrical Distribution Systems NA

Summary:

Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) is one of two business units within the Signal & Power Solutions segment; the NA region represents approximately $4B of total Aptiv revenue. The Strategic Business Planning Manager reports directly to the NA Sales Director. The position may be located in Troy, MI at the Troy Technical Center or in Juarez, Mexico at the Mexico Technical Center. This key position will help to set the regional strategy and will coordinate weekly activities within the cross-functional staff to help achieve divisional goals.

Your Role:

Business Planning:

  • Provide weekly regional updates- collect updates and weekly metrics from Commercial, Finance, Operations, Material, Program Management, HR; weekly report out to Finance.
  • Coordinate weekly staff meetings - manage agenda, distribute note/action items
  • Create regional presentations for quarterly communications meetings, regional business unit overviews, business reviews with top leadership, etc.
  • Coordinate monthly performance tracking reviews - develop templates, consolidate packages for margin improvement, Monthly Business Reviews
  • Consolidate regional content for monthly CEO memo
  • Special assignments and ad hoc requests (i.e. CPV analysis, data validation, etc.)
  • Audit Responsibilities:
    • Serve as management representative for site audits
    • Assist in coordinating internal/external IATF 16949 audits, collaborate with Customer Satisfaction/EOS manager & local ECG group, manage site communication, assist in site success, facilitate payment to external vendor.
    • Responsible for EDS Management Review during audit
    • Understand IATF and Aptiv requirements for management review, consolidate and update inputs for management review and participate in audits.

Revenue Planning:

  • Develop and track 5-year revenue outlook for budget planning process - collaboration with Commercial & Finance teams: YoY walks (Market Volume, Content Growth, Price Tracking, Cu, FX)
  • Report/Track monthly bookings and assist in annual bookings target development

  • Report monthly revenue growth by sales team
  • Coordinate annual strategic customer reviews - assist in template, content, consolidation
  • Model revenue scenarios based on macroeconomics impact
  • Facilitate regional update of market share database (Currently globally responsible for volume update & regional collection/update)
  • Manage market research subscriptions - Factiva/Dow Jones, AutoWorld
  • Manage team consisting of revenue planning analyst/Sales Planning System administrator (Salesforce-based) and ERP (SAP) administrator
  • Facilitate Quote Management Process (Flow 3)
    • Manage weekly agenda and 8 week outlook of upcoming quotes & projects
    • Preview content of presentations to ensure compliance with EDS leadership requests & template requirements
    • Document outcome of decisions, distribute note/action items, and post weekly quote management review to SharePoint site.
    • Be knowledgeable of DOA and escalate projects per DOA
  • Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering
  • 2+ years' experience in a related Business Planning role
  • 5+ years' experience and strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • 7+ years' experience within the automotive industry

  • Understanding of electrical and electronic product functions within automotive applications
