BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is generally responsible managing the crop insurance account relationships of a book of business consisting of complex, multi-channel crop and livestock insurance accounts and may specialize in designated industry segments; consult with customers and Relationship Managers on Insurance Solutions; Collect and submit policy applications and reporting documents; service policy book of business; developing and marketing new business as well as cross-selling solutions to current Association customers; is active in community and industry relations' activities; work with Approved Insurance Providers (AIP) in resolving claims and collecting premiums for customers when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop new business by collaborating with Regional Banking Managers and Retail, Commercial and Corporate Lending teams to expand Association insurance solutions to existing and new Association customers. Independently prospect new customers through community relations, external and internal relationships.
  • Manage the day-to-day customer relationship of complex accounts. Provide outstanding service to existing and new Association customers. Maintain and enhance the relationship with customers to understand their needs and expectations; Provide information to inform customers of new insurance solutions and important insurance updates. Make available expertise on insurance solutions to help customers make informed business decisions.
  • Collaborates with their business development team to execute sales and marketing strategies to reach prospective customers. Collaborates to develop team prospect lists and works with business development team to make joint contacts with prospective customers.
  • Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of crop and livestock insurance solutions available in their service area. Develops specialty expertise in insurance solutions prevalent within their service area.
  • Operates within Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) and Farm Credit Administration (FCA) authorities. Conducts business within rules, regulations, policy and procedures with ethics and integrity.
  • Performs other functions assigned.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Sr. Insurance Consultants and Insurance Consultants may supervise other insurance staff; provides guidance and training to insurance staff; makes independent decisions; works under general direction of Head of Partner Solutions, Regional Banking Manager, and/or Regional Banking Executive.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible crop or livestock insurance experience including some supervisory or management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining an insurance book of business with evidence of growth.
  • Appropriate insurance licenses.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the crop and livestock insurance industry as well as crop and livestock insurance products and services.
  • Knowledge of Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) and Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regulations, association, and district policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated proficiency in leading and motiving others.
  • Proficient in use of computer and mobile devices, to connect and utilize a wide variety of software and cloud-based systems and applications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Occasional overnight, extended and day travel required.

PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $65,476.20 - Max $102,306.56 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
