The Role

As we continue to grow as one QuidelOrtho, we are seeking an Operations Supervisor to work in our Fluids Manufacturing facility. This individual leads the Operations staff in a 24hr/day production environment to ensure business objectives are met. They do this by ensuring production work centers are fully staffed, standard work is being followed, standard times are being met, and quality defects are being minimized. They will be expected to create a positive, productive, and accountable culture within their team. The Supervisor will also be expected to communicate and collaborate with support functions (Quality, Materials Management, etc.) across shifts as needed.

This position is in Rochester, NY.

Schedule: Working hours will be targeted for B-shift (3pm-11pm) but will be expected to adjust hours to cover other shifts as needed, or portions of other shifts to facilitate crossover.

The Responsibilities

  • Leads and Supervises Operations personnel and provides regular feedback on attendance and performance.

  • Responsible for performance management processes and employee development of direct reports.

  • Recruits/hires staff to maintain required headcount.

  • Monitors staffing levels aligning overtime needs with daily production demands.

  • Maintains and monitors KPIs for each work area and drives actions to address gaps.

  • Drives continuous improvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrates strong commitment to following documented processes and holding team members accountable for the same.

  • Experience with manual operations and automated equipment.

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred:

  • Prior Supervisory experience.

  • AAS or Bachelor's degree.

Internal Partners: Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Product Support

External Partners: Service Supplier

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse environment and include handling of viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples. Up to 75% of the time you will be, standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $58,000 to $99,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
